Happy Friday the 13th!
Not only is today Friday the 13th, it is also the first time of the Halloween season we are going to watch Hocus Pocus! I know this is a favorite of a lot of people, but I can’t describe how much I love this movie. I’ve loved it for as long as I can remember and I feel like it only gets better with age! Just puts me in all kinds of Fall and Halloween moods.
In honor of the holiday and breaking out Hocus Pocus, I thought I would share a little bit of Halloween decor we have around the house!
We are still renovating the house so there isn’t as much space to decorate this year. I was very proud of myself and did not buy one new piece of Halloween decor. Instead I opened my Halloween tubs and treated it like my own shopping spree. Every year I forget what I have anyways so it’s kind of like shopping!
The first spot I decorated for Halloween was the coffee bar. I added my Halloween coffee mugs, a few pumpkins, and spell book from Michael’s. The glass bottles I found at Ross a couple years ago for around $4 a piece. The bats were from Target and I just purchased some of the command hanging strips for about $3 and used them to hang on the wall for easy clean up!
This makes it so you can reuse them year after year too!
The next spot to decorate was the dining room. This is probably the only part of the house that is done being renovated so majority of the decor went here. We had some friends come over the other night and they told me they loved my dedication to decorating for the seasons. I’m pretty sure it was a compliment…
I took this spiderweb table cloth that I purchased at Walmart last year and covered the table with it and used these orange spider web looking table chargers from Michael’s. Keep in mind, everything I purchased at some point was either on sale, or pretty cheap. If it was from Michael’s, I purchased it for 40-50% off. Some of it I believe I waited so late in the season it was 60% off! Also added these tombstones I got last year from the Target Dollar Spot, I believe they were $3 each.
I just added my Halloween round Rae Dunn plates and leaf garland from the dollar store to each table setting for some color. Another favorite of mine this year is copper! I love these copper mugs and the copper tray.
I love copper all year long, but I do love how it looks with all the Halloween decor!
Probably my favorite thing I decorated this year was the tobacco basket. I added some “spider webs” and my witches broom and broom parking sign. The spiders I knew at some point were actually going to scare me and they sure did after just one day. Since moving into this house and renovating, it has been common to see a spider because it sat empty for so long.
There have a few more little things here and there, but that is the majority of the Halloween decor around here. I thought about decorating the front porch, but I like how it looks for Fall and honestly just didn’t feel like it with everything else going on around the house!
Hocus Pocus Time!
I hope you all enjoyed my little Halloween tour! Maybe next year I will add some new things, but this year I had fun playing around with what I already had! For now, I am going to go pour a glass of wine and enjoy my favorite Halloween movie!
