I can’t believe two months have already gone by since we brought home our second little girl. Having two daughters is something I never imagined would happen to me, but I would not change a thing! Little girls truly are the best! If you want to see what I have been up to, you can read my life update post here! When I became a mom, I always found these type of lists super helpful, so I wanted to share with you some of my go to products that have really helped make life easier these first couple months.
Best baby products to make the first few months a little easier!
When my first was born, her beautiful little face broke out in a rash so bad I called my pediatrician in a panic. As most first time moms learn, this terrifying rash was none other than baby acne. Who knew there was such a thing?? I sure didn’t. So after a couple weeks passed, my second born started to get the dreaded baby acne. I searched for something to help and I came across this Mustela No Rinse Cleansing Water. This stuff is a game changer. It helped clear up her acne and helped keep it away. After two months, I still continue to use this stuff daily. It is perfect for cleaning out those perfect little rolls and underneath the neck in between baths. It does have a strong fragrance, but I personally like it. I am not sure where they carry it in stores, so I found it on Amazon. They sell a gift pack so you can try more products by them. The lotion and shampoo are amazing too. The only thing I have not been impressed with is the diaper rash cream.
I get this product for all my new mom friends. I will never use that nose bulb thing ever again. This product is all you need. It is so much gentler on the nose and actually works. I continue to use it on my almost 4 year old and she will actually bring it to me if her nose is stuffy. They make an electric version now, but the original is all you need. You can find it on Amazon or at any Walmart or Target.
Another great product by FridaBaby is the silicone brush. You can use it in the bath to help get rid of dry skin and cradle cap. It pairs perfectly with the Mustela Foam Shampoo! You can also use it after the bath and rub it on your baby’s head in a circular motion and your little one will love it! It is so soft.
I realize that bows are not a necessity, but if you have a little girl, you are going to want some for photos, or at least I did! I love these bows for my baby. Both my kids were born with very large heads and these fit her well. They are not too tight and will stretch to continue fitting her for awhile. Plus, they come in so many pretty colors so you really do have a color for every outfit. You can buy a 20 pack here for around $10!
This is my favorite product for giving my baby a bath. I tried a few different products for bath time, but this was the best for both my kids. It is the perfect angle for laying your baby down and the water drains right through it easily. You can purchase it here or I have seen it at Walmart for about $20.
We buy our baby wipes from Costco, which is great in bulk, but the packaging sounds like nails on a chalkboard when you are trying to change a diaper in the middle of the night. The wipes also come out 2 or 3 at a time which just drive me nuts. This dispenser helps just get one wipe at a time and no more loud crinkling of the packaging. Win win. I found this one on Amazon.
I love these gowns for pajamas at night. They make changing diapers fast and easy. And in the beginning, there will be A LOT of diaper changes in the middle of the night. No zippers or snaps to fuss with. This 3 pack comes in so many different colors and is around $15 depending on the pattern you choose.
My first born hated being swaddled so I never learned how to swaddle her. My second loves it and I am horrible at it. The Muslin blankets are great, but I always wrap her too loose and my baby burrito falls apart. These make swaddling so easy! And you can get a 3 pack for the same price as one HALO SleepSack.
I could go on and on, but this sums up the products I used the most during these first couple months. I plan on adding more of my favorites for moms and for toddlers soon so check back for that! Have you tried any of these products? Are there others that you swear by? I would love to hear from you!
