Unique Gift Ideas for Kids!

I cannot believe it is already the end of November! I always say I am going to plan ahead and not wait until the last minute to do everything I need for the holiday season, but lets be honest, it never works. With Christmas approaching quickly, as well as my daughters birthday 6 days before Christmas, the toy situation can get out of hand quickly around here.
This year, I am trying to come up with more creative gift ideas for my kids. Here are some of the things we are doing for them this year!
Toys for Tots:
If you have family and friends asking what to get your child for Christmas, why not suggest giving a toy in their name to Toys for Tots! I mentioned my daughters birthday is 6 days before Christmas, so for her first birthday we asked instead of a gift for her, to bring an unwrapped gift for us to donate. The party turned into quite the event with over 70 people in attendance, so we ended up with so many gifts to donate!
Subscription Box:
This one is new to me! I had no idea they made so many different types of subscription boxes for kids! My oldest loves to help to cook so we are getting one from Kidstir. Every month she will receive a box with a different recipe to try! I found a great list of subscription boxes available from Melissa Taylor at Imagination Soup. You can check out the list and her blog here!
TruChef Kids
:
Sticking with the cooking theme, to go along with her cooking subscription box, she is getting some kid friendly cooking supplies! The first is a chef starter kit with REAL cooking tools. Emphasis on the REAL so not for young children or without adult supervision. Now because safety first, we are also pairing these cooking tools with some cut resistant gloves!
Gymnastics Class:
Or any other activity your child may be interested in! My daughter is currently interested in tumbling and jumping on everything so we signed her up for gymnastics! Her grandparents are gifting her the next round of classes starting in January.
Gymnastics Mat
:
This is such a fun gift for kids that love to tumble and roll! My daughter is getting this for her birthday and I am not sure who is going to love it more, my daughter or husband! Perfect for a playroom or garage to let your kids have fun!
Beddy’s:
So I admit, this may be more of a gift to a parent, but hey, sheets are better than socks right?? I personally would be so excited to get these for Christmas for my daughter’s room (hint hint mom) because making her bed is a pain in the you know what. This would be a great way for her to learn how to make her own bed! If you have never seen Beddy’s, go watch their video on their website, best. idea. ever.
Educational Books:
My daughter loves working in her activity books. She goes through them so fast that I love to have extras on hand for when she is done with one. Some of the best ones I have found are at Costco. If you have access to a Costco, I highly recommend checking the book section for these:
I could not find a link for these anywhere online, but I see them at my Costco all the time. Some other good ones are these:
Or a tablet for those learning how to write and spell!
What are you doing for your kids for Christmas?? I would love to hear from you and any other ideas you have!
